Andorra Epic 2026 kicks off with close battle for the yellow jerseys

A thrilling mountain bike stage race through the Pyrenees with Cape Epic winners, World Cup winners and national title holders. Part of the Epic Series, it is the third race of the season, where teams of two must conquer 200km and 6.400m of climbing in just four days. Stage 1 of the Andorra Epic 2026 delivered a nail-biter finish and a race-defining twist. The Italian duo Davide Foccoli and Stefano Goria won the opening stage by a single second over David Valero and Samuele Porro. Simon Stiebjahn and Martin Frey were third across the line on the opening stage and find themselves 1 minute and 59 seconds off the lead.
In the women's race, favorites Katazina Sosna-Pinelė and Giorgia Marchet were leading at the first aid station atop Coll de la Botella (20km mark) before a puncture cost them over 20 minutes. That opened the door for Monica Calderon and Costanza Fasolis, who took control after the 35km service station and pulled clear by 2:09 to claim the stage win and the first leaders' jerseys.
